The sanding belts grinding process is to put the annular belt on the outer circle of the contact wheel and the tensioning wheel. Under tension, the surface of the belt rotating at a high speed is in contact with the processing surface of the workpiece and is in a certain degree. Under the effect of pressure, a method of grinding the workpiece surface with the relative frictional motion (cutting motion) produced.

Sanding belts grinding features

(l) Sanding belts grinding is called "rapid cutting method." The abrasive belt has high grinding efficiency, which has reached 10 times of milling and 5 to 20 times of ordinary grinding.

(2) Sanding belts grinding is also known as "cold" grinding. Due to less frictional heat during processing and long time interval for heat dissipation of abrasive grains, it can effectively reduce workpiece deformation and burn, and the machining accuracy can generally reach the processing precision of ordinary grinding wheel grinders, and some dimensional accuracy has reached ± 0.005mm. It reaches ±0.0012mm.

(3) Sanding belts grinding is called "elastic" grinding. Because the abrasive belt grinding is in flexible contact with the workpiece and has a good running and polishing effect, the surface roughness of the workpiece can reach Ra0.8-0.2 μm.

(4) Sanding belts grinding equipment has a simple structure, low manufacturing cost, and minimal wear of the contact wheel, which allows the belt to maintain a constant speed, a short drive chain, and a machine power utilization rate of up to 85%.

(5) Less auxiliary time. After the workpiece has been clamped and positioned once, the belt can be replaced multiple times to complete the entire machining process. There is no need to perform balancing and trimming operations like grinding wheels.

(6) Strong adaptability, simple operation, safe and reliable.
